The Scottish Goldsmiths Trust sadly announce that we are winding down the majority of our charitable activity. It is an extremely challenging time for the charity sector, and we have not been able to raise enough funds to be able to continue our programme and operations in their current form.

Read MoreWe are excited to announce the four Silversmiths who will be taking up tenancy at Marchmont Silversmithing Workshop, located in the Scottish Borders.
The initial renovations of the site are underway and on schedule to be completed early next year. The Marchmont Silversmithing Workshop will have space for five Silversmiths, one as the Anchor Tenant, three Emerging Silversmiths and an additional bench for residencies.
Based in Edinburgh, Iona Turner is a graduate of The Glasgow School of Art and creates ecologically-conscious art jewellery. Iona’s graduate collection, The Seaweed Gatherer, is an ongoing jewellery collection materialised from gathering seaweed. The process is that of careful attention to, and immersion in, seaweeds’ wild ecology. The variations in the seaweed’s detail, namely Knotted Wrack, become the work’s colour pallet and organic pattern.
