The Scottish Goldsmiths Trust supports and promotes the education, art and craft of Scotland’s gold and silversmithing heritage and trade.

The Scottish Goldsmiths Trust is now seeking applicants for the Marchmont Silversmithing Workshop Project Officer. The main purpose of the role is to implement and deliver the Marchmont Silversmithing Workshop. The post holder will consult and involve professional silversmiths, funders, partners, and other key stakeholders in developing the project.

In honour of International Women’s Day 2022, we spoke to Lisa Arnott and Jess Howarth of the Flourish Jewellery Project. Based in Edinburgh, Flourish aims to not only empower women through the act of making, but also to examine the role of craft making - in particular, contemporary jewellery design - and how it engages with disadvantaged, underrepresented and hard-to-reach communities.

This year, our conference will focus on how through innovative design strategies and alternative sourcing methods, jewellers and makers can design out waste, source ethically and create better brands--to create for change.
